HATSU KAORI (初熏) is a summer season limited-edition matcha from Uji, Kyoto, by Marukyu Koyamaen. Produced from the 1st harvest of the season and made using carefully selected Sa-midori cultivars, this highly anticipated release captures the freshness, vibrancy, and elegance that define exceptional shincha (新茶) matcha.
When prepared, Hatsu Kaori develops a silky, smooth texture with a delicate foam. Its flavour is rich yet gentle, offering balanced umami, subtle vegetal sweetness, and a lingering natural sweetness that unfolds gracefully across the palate.
